Tours & Activities

Corporate Social Responsibility in Austin is Easy!

Austin is known for being "green" and taking care of the community.  AlliedPRA is well-versed in a wide range of creative CSR activities your group can incorporate into your daily program, event or activity!

Recently, we designed a custom team-building event for a corporate client looking to "give back while having fun and strengthening their team-building skills."  We tailored their private activity based on group goals, budget, number of participants, schedule and preference to stay in the hotel. The group was excited about their "mission," which involved an obstacle course complete with camouflage.  The activity not only challenged their intellects but rewarded them with a way to give back to our troops in Afghanistan.

Austin Idol

This team building activity is sure to be a hit while making guests feel right at home in the "Music Capitol of the World"! Groups are divided into teams where they create their own songs.  Award-winning facilitators assist participants and engage them in the process. Leadership, communication, humor and fun are all part of this event.  After writing their songs, teams perform on stage. Everyone is a winner in multiple categories such as "deepest thought,” "funniest rhyme,” and "most surprising idea," to name a few. This experience is inspring and energizing, bringing everyone to collaborate in an extraordinary event.  The group will be singing long after this event is over!

Corporate "Celebrity" Cook Off!

Imagine the heat and excitement of the kitchen beating on your back while you and your teammates battle against your coworkers in an Austin-style cook-off!  Ever find yourself watching celebrity cooking shows wishing you could get a taste of the action?   Now is your chance! This team-building activity inspires creativity and stimulates the senses, all while helping your guests develop skills and bond.   Guests are divided into groups with team leaders and given a set of ingredients, as well as a "surprise" ingredient, and challenged to create a meal that will be judged based on various categories.

Other exciting foodie events include: "Secret Sauce Challenge," "Cake Icing Competition," or enjoy a private cooking or grocery shopping class focusing on only local, fresh and organic ingredients!

Austin From The Outside

Austin's outdoors activities are some of its top draws for tourists!  Discover hidden talents among your work groups as they set off to find their way through several points of interest along the shores of Lady Bird Lake.  At each turn, there are new and exciting examples of how your teams interact with nature and technology.  Use the tools in the scavenger pack to correctly identify native trees, find the names of artists on the iPod Shuffle and measure out water from Lady Bird Lake.   Each group of 5-8 people will use a handheld GPS to find their way through these and other engaging activities.

Deep In The Heart of Texas

Today’s tour introduces guests to Austin, the capital of Texas, and some of the landmarks that set it apart from any other city in the country.  We begin with a visit to the Capitol building, where guests get an inside look at the place where history has unfolded and current events are in the making.  Holding true to the motto, "all things are bigger in Texas,” Austin’s capitol building has the largest gross square footage of all state capitols.

While on the Capitol grounds, guests can also visit the Capitol Visitor’s Center (CVC).  The CVC includes permanent and rotating exhibits, such as videos and models examining the Capitol’s secrets and inner-workings. Guests also have the option to enjoy a walking tour of the Capitol grounds where they can see and learn about the 17 monuments that surround the Texas Capitol.

Botanical Bliss

Guests will fawn over flora at two uniquely Texas garden and flower centers, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Zilker Botanical Gardens.

Lady Bird Johnson was one of America's first First Ladies, and today guests are welcomed to her Wildflower Center.  Founded by Lady Bird Johnson and Helen Hayes, the Wildflower Center educates people about the environmental cause, economic value, and natural beauty of native plants.

The Center works hard to protect lovely blossoms in open spaces, but is also concerned for all of North America's native plants, from the smallest sprout to the tallest tree.  Guests take a guided tour of the facilities, offering a customized view of the many different features of this historic and important park.

Next, guests spend time at Zilker Botanical Garden. Zilker is located on 31 acres of gorgeous land on the south bank of the Colorado River near downtown Austin.  Its various gardens include the Isamu Tanigunchi Oriental Garden, the Mabel Davis Rose Garden, the Prehistoric Garden and the Douglas Blachly Butterfly Trail and Garden.  Each garden possesses unique features that are distinctive from the next and make the Botanical Garden as a whole one of Austin's best treasures.

Fine 'N' Fancy In Fredericksburg

Upon first glance, guests will understand why Fredericksburg is known for beauty and charm.  Its founding includes a rich history of people making a good life in a new place with the help of friends and neighbors.  Today, guests visit Wildseed Farms, where they wander through trails ablaze with row after row of colorful blooms.  Then guests venture into downtown Fredericksburg to enjoy a delicious lunch, site-seeing and shopping.  This perfect day will end with a Texas-sized wine tasting at Becker Vineyards!
